23-year-old Mary Olatayo was arrested by the Ogun State Police in Nigeria on August 18, following a report made by the baby’s father. The new father told the police that he had a relationship with the woman who provided paid sex services and she became pregnant. According to him, he rented an apartment for them where they lived together until she gave birth to their son.
Three weeks after the birth, according to the father, Olatayo disappeared and took the child with her. According to the “Daily Post”, the new mother moved to the hotel to “provide sexual services” to another man. “All efforts to find out where the mother hid the baby have proved futile,” Ogun Police spokesman Abimbola Oyeyemi was quoted as saying.

The spokesman added that during the investigation, “the 23-year-old admitted that she sold the baby to a stranger in Anambra State for the sum of six hundred thousand naira ($1,400). She also said that her friend, Kiyoma Ogbonna, was the one who led her to the buyer and that they both shared the money equally.” . Olatayo’s girlfriend was also arrested and verified the claims.
