The people of Israel were enveloped in mourning upon learning of the difficult news of the sudden passing of the Rebbe Mezvaheil ztzal, when he was only 66 years old. This evening (Monday) the Rebbe suddenly collapsed in his home on Yehezkel Street in Jerusalem. MDA units and the Rescue Unit were called to the scene, and for a long hour they tried to perform CPR. Unfortunately, resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful, and his pure soul ascended to heaven, leaving thousands of his followers grieving and shocked.
The funeral procession left tonight at 11:00 p.m., from his seminary on Rappaport Street in the Beit Israel neighborhood in Jerusalem towards his ancestors’ plot on the Mount of Olives.
The late Rebbe is the son of the late Rebbe Or Avraham Mazzuahil, and since his father’s death 12 years ago he has been serving as the Rebbe in Hasidism. In his youth, he studied at the Salonim yeshiva, where he became known as one of the greatest devotees. The Rebbe He gave his life for the benefit of the Hasidic institutions, which include Talmud Torah, yeshivots, congregants and midrash schools, alongside his persistence in the Torah and Hasidism throughout the years.
In his sudden passing, the Rebbe left behind his sons: Rabbi Moshe Natan Neta Goldman, Rabbi Yaakov Leib Goldman, his sons-in-law, his grandchildren and his descendants who follow the path of Torah and Hasidism, and his brothers: the Admor Rabbi Gedaliah Moshe, Rabbi Shaul, Rabbi Shmuel David, Rabbi Yosef and more.
And all the house of Israel will weep over the fire that God has kindled.
