Reliance Jio will invest Rs 2 lakh crore to introduce 5G technology in the country. Also, the company plans to offer 5G services in major cities by the coming Diwali.

Speaking at the 45th annual general meeting of Reliance Industries on Monday, its chairman Mukesh Ambani said:

Jio will launch 5G service across India by December 2023. To create a framework for this across India, Rs. It has been decided to invest 2 lakh crores. Jio is moving fast and ambitiously to launch 5G services in India.

Jio will launch 5G services in several major cities including metro cities Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata within the next two months, i.e. by Diwali.

After that, the 5G service will be launched monthly in various cities across the country. Ambani said the company plans to provide 5G services in all cities and taluks of the country by December 2023.

It may be recalled earlier this month that Reliance Jio, which had bought spectrum worth Rs 88,078 crore in an auction, had announced earlier this month that it would launch advanced 5G services across the country to make India a global leader in the eight-tier telecom industry.
