Jeddah: Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced that about three lakh pilgrims have come for Umrah so far this year. The largest number of pilgrims came from Indonesia. India ranks third in the list of countries that have brought the largest number of pilgrims to Umrah.

This year’s Umrah season started a month ago. Statistics released by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah show that about three lakh pilgrims have come to perform Umrah within a month from the beginning of the month of Muharram to Sunday. 2,68,000 pilgrims arrived through Jeddah and Madinah International Airports. And about 29,000 people reached Umrah by road and through various land borders.

More than 100,000 people arrived through Madinah airport. After completing the rituals, about 22,000 pilgrims returned to their countries through Madinah Airport. Most pilgrims come from Indonesia. About 1,27,000 people came from Indonesia for Umrah in one month. From Pakistan. 90,000 people, 54,000 from India have performed Umrah this season. Also, many pilgrims from countries like Iraq, Yemen and Jordan have come for Umrah this season, Hajj Umrah Mantralam said.
