“Within sight, we only see water, it has taken everything with it,” describes Rafiq Hasnain. Local TV reporter Naya Pakistan, whom we reached by phone, is covering the floods in Jafarabad, a district of Balochistan, a poor province in southwestern Pakistan. “In the region, more than 100,000 people have been affected by the floods (in a few days). There are no more dwellings, no more living animals, people no longer have drinking water and food. I even saw children feeding on grass and earth,” he laments.
