FIFA is planning to implement the var technology in Women’s World Cup in India

FIFA has decided to use Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup to be held in India. WAR aims to enable referees to seek help from video if they are in doubt about critical decisions. Decisions can be made in this way in all matters such as fouls and goals. FIFA announced on Tuesday that WAR technology will be allowed at the Women’s World Cup.

Meanwhile, FIFA lifted the ban on the All India Football Federation. The ban was lifted after an 11-day suspension. With this, it is certain that the U-17 World Cup will be held in India as previously scheduled. The matches will be held from October 11 to 30 at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, JLN Stadium in Madgaon and DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

“The Fifa U-17 Women’s Football World Cup will be judged on how accurately the designated match officials and referees control the match. We will see the quality of the match officials through the matches. War technology is being used for the first time in the Under-17 Women’s World Cup. We are very proud and happy about this,” said FIFA’s head of women’s refereeing, Kari Seitz.

This tournament is a great opportunity to see how well War technology can be used. Our women referees have come a long way in this regard. It will also become a preparation for the Women’s Football World Cup to be held in Australia and New Zealand in 2023.

WAR technology will assist the referee in the four most critical phases of a football match. Referee can check goals or fouls. Penalty decisions or mistakes that could lead to a penalty can be understood by watching the video. These include instances where a straight red card should be given and decisions taken against a player due to a misunderstanding.

The WAR team is constantly checking these four critical moments throughout the match. The war team will only intervene in the referee’s decision when there are serious mistakes or errors and when there are very critical issues that the referee has overlooked.

The U-17 Women’s World Cup is FIFA’s third women’s tournament to use WAR technology. The FIFA WAR technology has already been used in the Under-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica and the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France.
