Tarn-et-Garonne: she starts a fire by wanting to incinerate a hen

by time news

She certainly did not measure the consequences of her act. A resident of the village of Vareilles, in Tarn-et-Garonne, accidentally caused a fire of four hectares, Tuesday August 30, when she wanted to incinerate a domestic hen, reports La Dépêche du Midi.

After the death of the gallinaceous, she set fire to the corpse. A “reckless and confusing” decision, according to local firefighters and law enforcement. If this resident was not arrested, she was however fined by the gendarmes, specifies the daily, because she did not respect the prefectural decree in force in the department on the prevention of fires.

She “wanted to make this domestic hen disappear, behind her dwelling house, without properly measuring the risk that there was of causing a fire”, underlined the commander David Diaz, boss of the gendarmerie company of Castelsarrasin .

In total, around fifty firefighters from Tarn-et-Garonne, but also from the neighboring departments of Lot and Lot-et-Garonne had to intervene to control the fire, which lasted a little over 6 hours.
