The journalist and TV presenter jam age will present a first and intriguing exhibition called “Sugar” with the artist and goldsmith Sarah played. The exhibition will open to the general public on September 2, 2022 at the Ofer mall in Ramat Aviv and will run until September 23, 2022.
The new exhibition presents works of plastic art in a variety of new and unusual materials. The pop art exhibition – contemporary, colorful, full of content, and different in its treatment of this sweet and addictive essence – sugar, which is, according to the artists, “that sweet, delicious, addictive and intense substance, which challenges and vibrates our sensory, emotional, conjunctive and nervous system”.
“At the exhibition, we are going back to those days when we thought that sugar only sweetens our lives and, God forbid, it has no effect on the health system or worse – on the figure!” jokes the precise artist Gil Riva. “We refer to “culinary” icons such as the red rooster candy on a stick, the ‘Paz’ candies, the eternal Toblerone, the hot ice cream cup, carbohydrates such as pita, bagels bursting with “Hashar” chocolate, to memories, objects, symbols and other sweets for the mind and soul.”
During the work on the exhibition, they jammed and played processes of trial, error, and wonder to the point commemoration and freezing of The various icons are in various design processes. This is how works such as temporary and colorful castings from different materials are presented. The artists also use the technique of birzul and rusting of plastic images that turn them into “almost archaeological exhibits, and emphasize in a kind of absurdity their eternity in our memory”.
