In a statement issued in this regard, “Due to the atmospheric circulation prevailing over the northern parts of Tamil Nadu,

02.09.2022: Light to moderate rain with thundershower at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Puduwai and Karaikal. Heavy to very heavy rain at one or two places over Nilgiris and Coimbatore districts and heavy rain at one or two places over Tirupur, Theni, Dindigul and Tenkasi districts.

03.09.2022: Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Puduwai and Karaikal. Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Theni and Dindigul districts are likely to receive heavy rain at a few places.

04.09.2022 and 05.09.2022 : Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur at many places over Tamil Nadu, Puduwai and Karaikal. Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Theni, Dindigul, Erode, Krishnagiri Dharmapuri, Salem, Karur, Namakkal, Tirupattur, Madurai and Trichy districts are likely to receive heavy rain at one or two places.

06.09.2022 : Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at many places over Tamil Nadu, Puduwai and Karaikal. Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Theni, Dindigul, Erode, Krishnagiri Dharmapuri, Salem, Karur, Namakkal, Tirupattur, Tenkasi, Madurai, Trichy, Vellore, Ranipet, Thiruvannamalai and Kallakurichi districts are likely to receive heavy rain at one or two places.

For Chennai:

The sky will be partly cloudy for the next 24 hours. Light/moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur at few parts of the city. The maximum temperature will be around 34-35 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature will be around 26 degree Celsius.

Warning to Fishermen:

02.09.2022 and 03.09.2022 : Cyclonic winds with a speed of 40 to 50 kmph and occasional 60 kmph are likely to occur over North Kerala coast, Lakshadweep areas and adjoining South East Arabian Sea, Karnataka coastal areas and adjoining Middle East Arabian Sea.

05.09.2022 and 06.09.2022: Cyclone winds of 40 to 50 kmph over Kumari Sea areas, Gulf of Mannar and adjacent South Tamil Nadu coastal areas and South West Bay of Bengal adjacent to Sri Lanka
Can blow fast.

It has been mentioned that fishermen are advised not to visit these areas on the above mentioned days.
