Five-time world 100m champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce was beaten, for the first time this season on the queen race, by her Jamaican compatriot Shericka Jackson, by one hundredth, at the Diamond League meeting in Brussels on Friday .
Fraser-Pryce (35), who had not started due to a hamstring muscle alert a week ago in Lausanne (Switzerland), ran his slowest 100m of the season ( out of series), in 10 sec 74 (wind: +0.6 m/s). So much so that Jackson, recent vice-world champion in the straight line, narrowly beat her, in 10 sec 73.
The Ivorian Marie-Josée Ta Lou placed third in 10 sec 78. The whimsical American Sha’Carri Richardson took fifth place in 10 sec 93.
