‘Kaanam’ is directed by Sreekarthik and has a time travel storyline starring Sharvanand, Ritu Varma and actress Amala. The press meet of the film, which will release on September 9, was held today at Prasad Label.
Producer SR Prabhu, Actors Sharwanand, Nasser, Ravi Raghavendra, Satish, Ramesh Tilak, Actress Ritu Verma, Amala Akhineni, Director Srikarthik, Cinematographer Sujith Charank, Music Director Jacques Bijoy, Lyricist Madan Karki were present in this event.
Madan Karki, who participated in the show, said, “It’s great to see Amala on screen after a long time. I like time travel stories in general. The movies that are made in Hollywood are in the doomsday genre. But the director has changed that style and made this film emotionally. It was a pleasure to get a chance to write a song in the film. And it was interesting to write lines suitable for time travel,” he said.
Nasser said, “I am happy that this Time Machine has landed after four years. Prabhu is a person who works to make every film different. I was happy when the director Srikarthik, who he sent, told the story. I talked to him a lot about Signs. I felt young when I acted with these young people. Amala is wonderful. The person. I have known him since his debut. He is the same as I was then. It was an unforgettable experience to put on make-up for two hours for this film. I am happy to have acted with talented people like Sharwanand and Ritu Verma.”
Ramesh Tilak said, “I am very happy to have acted with Amala madam, thanks to the director for that. I have acted in a few films with Nasser sir. After watching the film RT15, I said it was an honor to have you act in it. He watched Kumbalangi Nights and said it was an honor to have you in it.”
Sathish said, “When the director tells this story, he plays the background music from the late top. I have never met a director who tells a story like this. Even though it comes late, this film is released on time.”
When Ritu Varma talks, this is my Tamil film after “Kannum Kannum Kolliyadithal”. It was a pleasure to act with Amala. He was really a very nice person, very friendly. I hope this film will get a response like the film Kannum Kannum Looting.”
Director Srikarthik said, “Until a certain age, I never cared about time. But only when I knew the value of time did I understand how important it is. When I knew that my mother would only live for some time, I was at a loss as to what to do. I love telling stories. One day I sat down to write a story. Then I felt that I can write it at the same time. I wrote this story for two years focusing on my desire to meet my mother again. Now it has been made into a film. I am very proud that Dream Warriors has produced this film. When I told this story to Prabhu, he cried at emotional places. I love my story. He gave me hope.” He spoke.
Actress Amala, who is acting after a long break, said, “If a film is being talked about so well, it must be a film that deserves it. When I played the heroine, the Tamil fans gave me a good response. I played a mother in the film Kanam. I hope this will also be well received.” said.
Talking about Shravananth, “Everywhere people always ask me why I am not acting in Tamil films after film. The reason is that there is no good story like Kanam. SR Prabhu was sending many stories for ten years. Nothing happened but after hearing the story of Kanam I liked it. Baahubali for four years. They took it. We took five years to bring Kaan to the screen. So Kaan is a bigger film than Baahubali.”
Producer SR Prabhu said, “Covid tested everyone. But Kanam tested the film in a different way. Five years were very heavy. When Srikarthik told me this story, I had no doubt that he would pull it off. He said it so confidently. Thanks to actor Sri for bringing this story to me. In the film He graciously agreed when I told him that he was not acting but another actor. I have sent many stories to Sharwanand including Maya. But this film has created an internet environment. We approached Amala with doubts whether she would agree to act again. But she happily came and acted. The film will definitely connect everyone. ” has spoken.
Dream Warrior Pictures has produced this film in Tamil and Telugu languages at a huge cost and will be released in Telugu under the name ‘Ok Oka Jeevitham’.
