It happened just before the flight took off. Through the airdrop system on the iPhone, nude pictures came to the phones of many passengers, including women. A passenger was sending nude pictures of himself to other passengers. Some of the passengers who got this informed the flight crew and the pilot intervened. The incident came to light when one of the passengers recorded the pilot’s interaction on his mobile phone camera and uploaded it on TikTok.
The incident took place on a Southwest Airlines flight en route to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. A passenger sent a nude picture of himself to the phones of other passengers just as the flight was about to take off. This image was sent through the AirDrop system on the iPhone. It is a system to send messages and media files to nearby iPhones. It does not require Wi-Fi. Using this facility, nude pictures were sent to the phones of women passengers, among others.
Subsequently, some of the passengers complained to the flight crew. They said that the nude picture was sent to their phones without their permission. With that, the pilot intervened from the cabin. The pilot threatened that if he did not stop airdropping the nude photos, the plane would return to the gate and the security personnel would be informed about this, and if that happened, there would be a situation where everyone’s journey would be canceled. This scene was captured by a passenger on her mobile phone and posted on TikTok. With this it went viral.
Anyway, after this, the nudity came to an end. Many people have pointed out in the discussions on social media regarding this video that if the pilot had not intervened in that way, things would have been worse. But others questioned why the identity of the passenger was not investigated. They also opined that action should have been taken against the person when it was easy to find him.
