A young woman was killed by being pushed from a running train while preventing sexual assault. The 30-year-old woman was tried to be molested while she was traveling from Rotak to Tohana with her nine-year-old child. Railway police arrested Sandeep (27) in the incident. He was injured after jumping from the train and is being treated at the hospital.
The incident happened on Thursday night. The husband told the police that when he was only 20 km away from Tohana, his wife called him on the phone and asked him to reach the railway station to take her and the baby. When he reached the station, the baby was coming down from the train crying. When asked, he said that someone had pushed his mother from the train.
After a search by the police and the woman’s family, the body was recovered from the railway track on Friday morning. Fatehabad police chief Astha Modi said that there were only three people in the coach in which the woman was traveling. Railway Police SI Jagdish stated that they are investigating whether there was any lapse on the part of the police in the incident.
