Transfer market to PSG: Rafinha leaves Paris and signs in Al-Arabi, Qatar

by time news

Mauro Icardi will feel very alone in the PSG loft. The Argentinian is now the last player checked as “undesirable” for the Galtier-Campos duo to still be at PSG after the formalization of Rafinha’s departure on Saturday evening, when his former teammates were about to start their match against Nantes. The Brazilian midfielder has indeed officially signed up for the Qatari club Al-Arabi for two seasons. According to specialist journalist Fabrizio Romano, this is a free transfer, PSG above all seeking to free themselves from the contract (and therefore the salary) of a player who will not leave a huge memory with the supporters.

Yet regularly used by Thomas Tuchel on his arrival in October 2020, Rafinha never entered the plans of Pochettino, who became PSG coach a few months later. In total, the former FC Barcelona player will only have played 39 games with PSG, without scoring a single goal.
