President Yitzhak Herzog and his wife Michal took off this morning for a state visit to Germany at the invitation of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and will participate in a ceremony commemorating the 50th anniversary of the massacre of Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics alongside the families of the victims.
As part of the visit, the President will meet with the President of Germany, the Chancellor of Germany and other senior officials. The president will address the German House of Representatives – the “Bundestag”, will participate in the state ceremony commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Munich massacre and will visit the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp accompanied by the German president.
