An autopsy revealed that “Naked and Scared” reality show contestant Melanie Rausch accidentally died when she inhaled a fatal amount of compressed air used for cleaning products, according to a report
Rausch, 35, was found dead next to several cans of vacuum cleaner on July 17 in Prescott, Arizona. The autopsy report from the Yabapai County Medical Examiner stated that Melanie inhaled the toxic propellant, leaving her unresponsive.

Her official cause of death was listed as difluoroethane poisoning. The street slang for this is called “preaching” and it’s a practice mostly used by adults and young people looking to get laid on the cheap. The report said that drugs and alcohol did not play a role in her death.
Rauscher served as a dog warden at the time. The owners came home from vacation to find her dead on the bed in the guest room.
