Vladimir Putin gave a history lesson and brainwashing to Russian children last Thursday. His fears of the corona virus led him to order each of the high-achieving children to be quarantined for two weeks before the meeting in Kaliningrad. The president is facing rumors of ill health and is seen shaking uncontrollably, limping and clutching a chair for support. This is reported by the ‘Daily Mail’.
During the meeting, Putin stressed to the young children the importance of learning Kremlin-sanctioned history and referred to Ukraine as an “anti-Russian enclave.”
In an hour-long question-and-answer session, Putin said he was shocked to learn that children in eastern Ukraine do not know their country was part of the Soviet Union with Russia and that correcting the record is an essential task. He said that the Russian Minister of Education, Sergei Sergeevich Krabtsov, told him that children in the Russian-occupied Donbass ‘don’t know that the bridge to Crimea exists’ and ‘didn’t even know that Ukraine and Russia are part of a united state.’
Putin said it was important that schools in Russia and the Russian-occupied parts of Ukraine teach the curriculum approved by Moscow – which largely negates Ukraine’s sovereignty and history as an independent country since 1991. Since the invasion of Ukraine, the Kremlin has pushed schools to be more patriotic. From last Thursday, all students start the week with the flag raising ceremony and the playing of the national anthem.
Questions about Putin’s health have been circulating in Russia for some time, with some suggesting he has cancer or Parkinson’s and regularly disappears for days at a time amid claims he is undergoing surgery.
