Mushfiqur Rahim is the leading wicket keeper of Bangladesh team. 35-year-old Mushfiqur Rahim has announced his retirement from international T20 cricket. He made his Test debut for Bangladesh in 2005 at the age of 16 and made his T20 debut against Zimbabwe in 2006.
Mushfiqur Rahim has played for Bangladesh in T20 World Cups since 2007.
Meanwhile, Rahim, who was expected to play for the country’s team in the World Cup to be held in Australia next month, has announced his retirement.
Regarding his retirement, Mushfiqur Rahim said on Twitter:-
I am retiring from international T20 cricket. I am concentrating on Test and ODI cricket.
Also, he said that if he gets a chance, he will play in T20 cricket series held abroad like IPL. He also posted that I am waiting to play for my country in Tests and ODIs with the name MR15.
It is noteworthy that Mushfiqur Rahim has announced his retirement after the Bangladesh team lost to Afghanistan and Sri Lanka in the ongoing Asia Cup series and exited in the league round.
He has played 82 Tests, 236 ODIs and 102 T20Is for Bangladesh. He has also scored 5,235 runs in Tests, 6,774 runs in ODIs and 1,500 runs in T20Is.
