Director Mani Ratnam has made Ponniin Selvana, a historical novel written by Kalki, in two parts. The first part will release worldwide on the 30th.
The film is slated to release in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi languages. 2 songs Ponni Nadi and Chozha Chozha from Ponni’s film Selvan have been released and received great response and fueled the anticipation of the film.

Ponni’s Selvan stars Vikram as Aditha Karikalan, Jayam Ravi as Rajaraja Cholan, Vandiyadevan Karthi, Trisha as Kundavai, Aishwaryarai as Nandini.
Music for this film is composed by AR Rahman. Ravivarman has done the cinematography. Selvan has produced Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies Ponni in association with Lyca.
