Socializing for a good cause

When politicians swing the wooden spoon, celebrities serve soup and there is far more atmosphere in the church than usual, then it’s the Nikolai banquet. It was a great success again this year. We report what the donations are used for. A post with a photo gallery.

Wismar. Thomas Agerholm from the Wismar Foundation of the same name had the good news “between the courses”: The 8,000 euros that the high-quality cleaning and careful restoration of the triumphal cross in St. Nikolai should cost were already paid before the start of the 13th Nikolai banquet on Friday evening thanks to the donations collected.

And the even better news: There is a second triumphal cross in the church – that of St. Marien, which needs to be restored just as much and is even more magnificent. For the 13th time, the Thomas Agerholm Foundation, together with the company HW Leasing, the mayor Thomas Beyer as patron, the sponsors and 190 guests invited to the banquet, always with the request for donations to save the valuable cultural assets in the church. This time there was music by Luis Dannewitz (21) with his gifted voice, piano and guitar, plus a three-course menu.
