“We don’t need a constitution; Islamic law is enough” – Taliban | Taliban Says Afghanistan Does Not Need Constitution; Vows To Solve Issues As Per Islam

Kabul: The Taliban have been in power for more than a year in Afghanistan, and they do not need a constitution to rule; They have said that Islamic law is enough. Abdul Karim Haider, Minister of Justice of the country, expressed this opinion.

Speaking at a press conference in this regard, he said, “Constitutions are also written in Islamic countries based on the Holy Quran. We don’t need a separate constitution. We give people what Islamic law allows. We give them freedom according to Islamic law in terms of women’s rights. When the situation improves, more powers will be given to them. The charter we will create will be based on that,” he said.

US and NATO forces withdrew from Afghanistan in August last year. The Taliban then took over. They declared that the rule was according to the Sharia law of Islam. At the same time, the regime will not be the same as in the past. They promised that women’s education, women’s freedom will be maintained and friendly relations will be established with the countries of the world. But the rule of the Taliban did not work like that.

Despite the Taliban’s constant promises about women’s freedom, there is practically nothing in place. The government is still silent on girls going to school. Since last May, women have been required to wear a blue burqa covering their head to toe. It warned that the husbands, fathers and brothers of the women who did not dress like that would be punished with imprisonment.

In this case, they have insisted that they do not need a constitution to govern and that Islamic law is sufficient. It is noteworthy that the punishments of stoning criminals in public places for crimes like drug use and smuggling are also being given.
