Officials of the Rapid Transport Corporation said that those who book two-way tickets online will get a 10 percent discount on the return ticket fare.
1,082 buses are operated under Rapid Transport Corporation including state-of-the-art floating buses, air-conditioned buses, buses with air-conditioned beds and seats, and buses with toilet facilities.
Apart from Tamil Nadu, these buses are being operated on a total of 251 routes in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka and Puducherry. The facility of booking tickets for buses plying to districts more than 300 km away has been implemented since 2006. Now you can book your ticket a month in advance through the website and mobile app.
In this case, Transport Minister Sivasankar announced in the Legislative Assembly that to encourage passengers to travel by long-distance buses and to attract passengers by private buses and trains, except on festival days, passengers who book two-way tickets online will be given a 10 percent discount.
Now this notification is implemented. According to this, 10 per cent discount on the return ticket fare is given if a single round trip ticket is booked online. This offer is not applicable on festival days.
