Dubai: The UAE Space Agency is preparing a survey to estimate how much the space sector contributes to the country’s economy. The extensive study comes as the government announces more space projects and the number of private space companies increases in the UAE. The survey focused on the number of companies operating in the sector, foreign investment and total spending on space projects.
The survey will also determine the number of people working in the space sector. Sara Al Amiri, Minister of State for Public Education and Future Technologies and Chairperson of the UAE Space Agency, revealed the survey.
She clarified that the study is being conducted to help improve decision-making and formulate strategic policies. Amiri expressed hope that the results of the survey will help start-ups and small and medium companies to work and increase research projects.
