New York: The Russian Defense Ministry is trying to buy billions worth of rockets and artillery shells from North Korea during the invasion of Ukraine, an international news agency report citing US intelligence sources.
There were earlier reports that the Russian army was facing a shortage of weapons in Ukraine. This is due to the sanctions imposed by Western countries. It is unclear how many weapons Russia plans to buy from North Korea. North Korea has recently made efforts to strengthen ties with Russia, which has fallen out with the West.
The US had previously confirmed that Iranian-made drones were deployed by Russian forces against Ukraine in August. But the US says that they have found technical faults.
