Kuwait City | Study report that 20 percent of children in Kuwait are prone to diabetes and obesity. This is indicated by the reports of a study started 10 years ago with the support and funding of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences and the Dasman Diabetes Institute. This is evident from a long-term follow-up of 8,000 children.

The report also found that children who slept late had higher rates of inflammatory markers than children who slept early. The study also explains that it increases the risk of diabetes, heart disease and some types of cancer in children. The study report was prepared under the leadership of Hind Al Qadi, a doctor and researcher at Dasman Diabetes Institute and a lecturer at Harvard University.
