The Airports Authority is completing the assessments with more employees that will enable better handling of passenger traffic during the Tishrei holidays. Holidays that will be spread over the months of September and October this year. Israel urges the traveling public to use pre-flight services, check in from home and arrive at the airport no more than three hours.

High growth percentages in aircraft occupancy: during 20 days in the month of September, over 70,000 passengers a day will pass through the airport and during another 10 days between 80,000 and 90,000 passengers will pass through the airport. The peak day in September is September 22 with about 90,000 passengers on international flights.

In September, approximately 2 million passengers will pass through Israel. In October, approximately 2 million more passengers are expected to pass through on international flights. Between the dates of September 19 and 22, the departure of Uman Hasidim to Ukraine is planned. About 6,000 Uman Hasidim will take off this year on approximately 31 flights to neighboring countries to Romania, Moldova and Poland. The flights departing to Uman will be made from Terminal 1 while the return is to Terminal 3 at the airport.

On the eve of Yom Kippur, on Tuesday the 4th of October, aircraft traffic will stop at 2:00 p.m. At the end of Yom Kippur on October 5, the first flight will land in Israel at 10:30 p.m. and the first takeoff will depart at 11:30 p.m. On Kippur, Tuesday October 4, approximately 45,000 passengers on international flights will pass through Israel until the time of the suspension of air operations.

Thursday 10/5, after the departure of Yom Kippur, 83,000 passengers are expected to pass through Israel and Sukkot Eve, Sunday 10/9, approximately 81,000 passengers will pass through Israel. The destinations leading up to the month of September this year are Turkey, Greece, the USA, Italy and England.
