Gampam: Tourists going to Meghamalai have received a complaint that the forest department is harassing them at the forest department check post in Tenpalani. The Meghamalai region has areas like Highways, Manalaru, Venniaru, Iravankalaru, Maharaja Mettu, Tuvanam. Tourists come every day to enjoy these scenic spots.

There is a forest department check post at Tenpalani to check vehicles going to Meghamalai. In recent times, there have been complaints that the check post staff are being rude to tourists from outside the district, especially those who arrive after 11:00 am, forcing them to return by 2:00 pm, from Chinnamanur.

If you normally leave at 8:00 am to reach Iravangalar, it will be 6:00 pm. In this situation, people who go at 11:00 am are lamenting how they can return by 2:00 pm. In this regard, Chinnamanur ranger Sivaji was asked, “Nowadays there is movement of elephants. So we strictly tell you to return by 6:00 pm. People coming from outside districts do not know the rules here. He said, “We are sending them to explain the matter. There is no mistake in this.”
