58-year-old dies in shark attack during recreational trip

Miami: A 58-year-old woman died in a shark attack during a leisure trip. The shark attacked a woman from Pennsylvania in the US. The violence took place in Green Cay, near the Bahamian capital Nassau.

The family of five went on a cruise aboard Royal Caribbean International’s Harmony of the Seas. The shark attacked while taking part in an adventure event that involved diving directly into the sea. Tour operators and family members tried to save the girl but she succumbed to death.
The ship authorities have announced financial assistance in the incident.

Shark attacks are a regular occurrence in the area. In 2019, an American woman died after being attacked by three sharks during a dive.
