Sri Lanka donates to Pakistan in disaster!

The Sri Lankan government donated Ceylon tea to the people affected by the flash floods in Pakistan last weeks.

More than 1,200 people have died in Pakistan due to heavy rains and floods across the country.

While various countries are extending their help to Pakistan which is caught in this natural calamity, Sri Lanka has also come forward to help Pakistan.

It has donated tea to provide to the flood-affected relief camps in Pakistan.

Sri Lanka has attracted international attention

On September 05, 2022, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Sabri handed over the tea to the High Commissioner of Pakistan Umar Farooq Burki at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Also, Ali Sabri expressed his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, injured and victims of the floods and expressed the support and solidarity of Sri Lankan government and people of Sri Lanka for Pakistan.

In this case, despite being stuck in a severe economic crisis, this humanitarian action of Sri Lanka has attracted the attention of international countries.
