The film was released in the same year as the comic hits “Doctor Strange” and “Wonder Woman”, starring Chiwetel Ejiofor and Gal Gadot – 2016, and the two stars play in it alongside other Hollywood actors.
The crime thriller “999” shot up sixty-eight places in the Netflix charts overnight, becoming an alternative for audiences desperate for a star-studded action flick. Cast includes the likes of Anthony Mackie, Norman Reedus, Casey Affleck, Teresa Palmer, Woody Harrelson and Kate Winslet.
The star-studded film was not considered a huge box office success, when its production budget was 20 million dollars and the revenue was only 25 million, and it was not a great success with the critics either.
In recent days, as mentioned, the film suddenly jumped in popularity, this may have happened due to a change in the recommendations of Netflix editors or because of an amazing algorithmic miracle, and now it is ranked 18th in the list of the most watched films.
