CHENNAI: The poor children are enthusiastically participating in the free football training at the Municipal Corporation Sports Ground. A sports education skill development center for slum children is running in Vyasarpadi. On behalf of this, free football training is provided to all age groups at the Corporation Sports Ground in Mullai Nagar.

In this, poor children are being given sports training for free. Regarding this, coaches Umapati and Thangaraj said: In Vyasarpadi, many children were addicted to bad habits including drugs. Thus, their future was questionable. In order to guide them and bring out their talent, Slum Children Sports Education Development Center was started.

Through this, at present, more than 500 children are being given free training. Now, Nandakumar, 24, who trained here, has emerged as an international athlete. Currently he is the captain of the Odisha team. Similarly, many sportsmen are being developed. Apart from that, various trainings are being provided to excel in education as well, they said.
