New Delhi: India suffered a heavy blow ahead of the Twenty20 World Cup. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja will miss the tournament. Jadeja was injured after the match against Hong Kong in the Asia Cup.

Jadeja underwent surgery in Mumbai following a knee injury. Reports are that Jadeja will not be able to recover his fitness by the time of the Twenty20 World Cup. It is reported that the team management is also very unhappy with Jadeja’s injury.

In the hotel where the Indian team was staying in Dubai for the Asia Cup, Jadeja was trained in a system called backwater. The Times of India reports that Jadeja was injured here.

It was an adventure game from balancing on one like a sky board. There was nothing to come down to it. He fell and broke his arm. This led to the need for the surgery, reports Times of India quoting BCCI sources.

BCCI has not yet officially confirmed Jadeja’s exclusion from the Twenty20 World Cup squad. Akshar Patel is likely to replace Jadeja in the squad.
