Spain, current World Champion, title achieved this summer, started the match dominating 2-3 in the first quarter with goals from Alvaro Granados, Bernat Sanahuja and Roger Tahull.

Two goals from Kristian Manhercz, one from a penalty, activated Hungary, which leveled the match at 4 with Alvaro Granados responding for 4-5 in the last advantage of the team.
Hungary turned it around in the final two minutes with three goals – two from Adam Nagy and another from Burian to take a tough 7-5 deficit. Spain conceded five goals in four minutes when throughout the tournament they were relentless in defence.
The break was more necessary than ever, to curb Hungary’s offensive effervescence and at the same time to adjust on defense.
David Martín played the necessary pieces and the team returned to the game with an excellent defense that left the Magyars without success while in attack, a quick goal by Alvaro Granados and another by Alberto Munárriz returned the equality to 7.
Everything started again but Hungary was much fresher in the last period. Gergo Zalanki scored the 8-7 and there was no reply in attack and if the gap was widened with two more goals until 10-7 that left without hope a team that only had time for Miguel de Toro’s final 10-8.
