No criteria concerning the reduction of hazardous substances beyond the regulations
If this Epeat label has three levels (gold, silver and bronze), the agency advises to retain only devices classified gold or silver. The bronze level is “easily achievable” according to Ademe, which underlines on this subject that “there is no criterion concerning the reduction of the presence of dangerous substances beyond compliance with the regulations in force”.
On some multimedia equipment (computers, tablets, etc.), you can also find the Energy Star label. This is an American classification created in 1992 and officially recognized in Europe which lists the same type of information as that visible on the energy label affixed to your refrigerator, without however repeating the rainbow presentation or the same requirements.
