Ingrid Yoon is a young and ambitious lawyer of South Korean origin at a large law firm in Manhattan. Ingrid has one huge goal in her life – to become a senior partner in the firm. In order to fulfill her dream, she gives up over the years almost every other matter in her life. She doesn’t have a partner, she works around the clock seven days a week, at night she falls asleep to the sound of recorded lessons in mergers and acquisitions law – it’s all good for the cause.

The plot begins to move when the office is joined by a slippery lawyer who was her partner for a lonely night out six years ago, and since then she can’t get him out of her head. Ingrid, who in the meantime has met a good guy, who among other qualities is also a charming young billionaire, is torn between the two. When work requires her to lie to friends and clients, Ingrid obeys and on the way says goodbye to the good guy and falls into the slippery arms. Anyone interested in knowing the sequel is welcome to watch.
“The Path to Partnership”, even though it is unconventional and does not fall into the usual category of legal drama series, is a strange series. When Ingrid and her friends have a conversation between them that is mainly about legal terms, the reasonable viewer does not understand anything. For moments it seems that these (long) conversations are simply a transcript One by one someone copied a number of contract laws (say) and poured it straight into the script.
