The Afghan Ministry of Defense confirmed the news about the accident. An American Black Hawk helicopter flying for training crashed inside the National Defense University campus due to a technical fault, said Inayatullah Khorasmi, the spokesman of the Afghan Ministry of Defense. It was also confirmed that five people were injured in the accident.
After taking over Afghanistan a year ago, the Taliban took control of some US-made aircraft. It is unclear how many are currently operational. There were reports that the hardware of some military aircraft was deliberately damaged while the US troops were returning from Afghanistan. But after the takeover, US warplanes and other vehicles were seized and used by the Taliban.
