In the film, Siju Wilson plays the role of Aratupuzha Velayudhapanikar, a revivalist hero. Kayadu Lohar is the heroine

Now, Siju Wilson is recalling the experience when he approached director Joshi asking for a chance.

‘After announcing the Sevens movie, I went to Joshi sir’s house to ask for a chance. I knew how to play football very well, and when I came to know that the story was based on football, the assistant director of the film told me to watch Joshi sir.

So I knocked on Joshi sir’s house in Panampally Nagar and rang the calling bell. Then an old woman came and said sir is not here. Then I went to the park near sir’s house and waited.

After some time I went again and knocked on the door and this same woman came. Then he said that sir has not arrived. It was at that time that he saw two boys coming on a bike and entering Sir’s house. After 20 minutes they went out.

I followed them on my bike and stopped them and asked if Joshi sir is at home. Then sir said he was there. Again I went to sir’s house and knocked on the door. Then the woman who opened the door earlier opened the door and said that Sir is here. He told me to wait till Sir’s wife comes.

So it was possible to meet Joshi sir only after his wife came. So I asked for a chance to meet sir and sir told me to come to Kozhikode. I said ok and left him immediately.

So I took all the boots and landed at Kozhikode railway station. I couldn’t get hold of Gins, the assistant director of the film I knew, and I couldn’t get anyone I knew from the sets of the film.

So I waited at the railway station till noon. When I got terribly hungry, I called my friend and looked for a good place to eat. So as he said I went to Paragon Hotel and had one and a half biryani.

Then went to the beach and lay like a buffalo in the hot sun. In the evening I got a call from Jinsen. So after I reached the location, sir packed up and left. Then I went to sir’s room and knocked. Sir opened the door and asked about the matter and told him to go and see the associate.

So met the associate and gave the photo and details. He said he would call. So I went back and got into the car. Then I realized one thing that you should not go and ask for a chance during the shooting,’ says Siju.
