‘Mood was bad, had to turn down Ponniyin Selvan’: Amala Paul

ThePonniyin Selvan is a film that is eagerly awaited by Indian film lovers. Mani Ratnam is directing the film based on the world famous historical novel by legendary writer Kalki. The first part of the two-part film will hit the theaters on September 30. A few days ago, the trailer of the film got a lot of attention. Now, actress Amala Paul is revealing about the rejection of the big star cast film.

Amala says that Mani Ratnam called her to act in ‘Ponniyin Selvani’ but she had to turn down the role due to her bad mood that day. Amala’s response was in an interview given to Times of India.

‘Maniratnam sir had auditioned me as Ponniyin Selvan. I am a big fan of his. So I was very excited. But it didn’t happen. I felt very sad and disappointed. Later in 2021, he called me again regarding that film. I was not in a mood to do that film at that time. So I had to reject the role. But I don’t regret it’, said Amala Paul.

‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is a multi star Brahmanda film. Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Sarathkumar, Rahman, Jayaram, Babu Antony, Lal, Prakash Raj, Ashwin Kakumanu, Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu Parthipan, Riyaz Khan, Mohan Raman, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha Krishnan, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Shobhita Dhulipala, Jayachitra The film has a huge cast including others.
