Kumarapalayam: Electrician Ganesan, 58, of Pallakkapalayam, near Kumarapalayam, Namakkal district, was killed. His grandson Sujith Kumar, 3. As his grandson got fever, he took him to the hospital yesterday evening in the two-wheeler ‘TVS, Excel Super’.
SRK, on the school road, the opposite ‘Eicher’ vehicle was speeding as if hitting a moped. Realizing that the van was going to hit him, Ganesan threw the grandson, who was standing on a moped, on the road with one hand. The next moment, Ganesan was thrown by the van and got seriously injured. He died on the way to Kumarapalayam Government Hospital. The grandson suffered only minor injuries. Van driver Suresh, 38, was arrested by the Kumarapalayam police.
