In a dramatic incident in the concert hall of the Swedish city of Uppsala, two people were killed, according to media reports. This was reported by the TT news agency, the SVT broadcaster and other Swedish media on Tuesday evening, citing the police.

According to this, a person in the building fell or jumped from a high height into the entrance area, fell on people and died. Another person died as well, and another was injured, but not life-threatening.

The background to the incident in the UKK concert and congress building remained unclear until late Tuesday evening. The homage “Thank You For The Music” was supposed to take place there in the evening for the two Abba members Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus.

The organizer MTLive wrote on Facebook that the concert had to be canceled at short notice. A terrible incident had occurred in the UKK. “What we do know is that someone jumped / fell high up in the arena and met other people while falling.” The police evacuated the arena and everyone was in shock. According to TT, there were around 1,000 people in the building at the time of the incident. Uppsala is a good 60 kilometers north of Stockholm.
