The number one of the communist party Fabien Roussel, suspected of having been paid as an assistant to a deputy between 2009 and 2014, without having really worked for the Parliament, was heard at the end of August in free hearing, indicated this Monday a source close to the file, confirming information from RTL.

The communist deputy is accused in an article by Mediapart, published in February 2022, of having been paid 3,000 euros net per month between 2009 and 2014 as parliamentary attaché to Jean-Jacques Candelier, communist deputy for the 16th district of the North, while no evidence of this work exists.

“I was a parliamentary assistant: what a revelation! This information is even present on my website. Many witnesses can prove my work: it is in all the speeches, the questions that my deputy asked. I have the proof, ”assured the communist leader in a tweet at the time of the publication.

Fabien Roussel, who disputes these accusations, was heard by investigators from the OCLCIFF (Central Office for the Fight against Financial Crimes) as part of an investigation by the National Financial Prosecutor’s Office (PNF) for “embezzlement of public funds”.
