The ICF Colony Club team won the ‘Champion’ trophy by defeating the Sports University team in the senior girls’ basketball tournament at Tiruvallur District, Chennai. The District Basketball Tournament was held at ICF, South Sports Ground. The tournament was held in four categories namely 10, 13 and 16 years and senior.
In this, teams from clubs and schools under Tiruvallur district participated. The matches were first in the ‘knock-out’ mode and then in the ‘league’ mode. Yesterday, in the under-16 boys category, the Velammal Primary School team beat the ICF Colony team and the Velammal International School team by 58-52 in the semi-finals. , 48 – 38 against ICF and Eds.
In the final, Velammal International team defeated Velammal Primary School by 49 – 43. In the subsequent Senior Girls’ tournament, four teams battled it out. In the final, ICF Colony Club defeated Minions Club by 65 – 45. knocked down Shalini of ICF and Sanghavi of Minions were given the best player awards.
