A man living in Heilongjiang province in northeastern China used his hydrogen balloon to collect pine seeds from pine trees in a forest area there. As it happened, he and another person who was an accomplice were in the balloon.
As usual, they left the balloon attached to the ground and collected pine seeds in two large piles. At that time, the balloon unexpectedly lost control, cut the bond with the ground and started flying in the sky. Seeing the balloon flying out of control from the ground, the accomplice immediately became alert, acted quickly and jumped down from the balloon and escaped without any injuries.
He alone started flying in the sky in the balloon while his partner jumped down and escaped. Thus he flew several kilometers in the sky. Luckily he had his cell phone with him. The rescue team contacted him on his cell phone the next morning and instructed him over the phone on how to land the balloon. Meanwhile he was already flying several kilometers in the balloon.
Acting on the instructions of the rescue team, he landed only two days later. He had flown nearly 320 kilometers in the balloon when he landed. The doctors who came down and examined him said that there was no major physical disorder other than leg pain caused by standing for a long time.
