The educational picture: Ashdod continues to increase in the percentage of eligibility for ordinary and excellent matriculation South here

The Ministry of Education publishes today the data of the “authoritative and school educational image”, of the upper division for the 2018 school year in Ashdod.

According to the data, the city of Ashdod records an increase in the general urban eligibility percentage, which includes educational institutions that approach matriculation for budget purposes, this figure stands at 75.6% in the year 2015, compared to 73.4% in the year 2015. Eligibility for an outstanding matriculation also increased from 7.5% to 9.1%.

In the schools that are under municipal supervision, the eligibility percentage is 94%. The municipality emphasizes that all this happens together with a minimal dropout percentage (0.6%), as part of the war for every student. The greater success is in light of the fact that Ashdod is socioeconomic 4, a rating that means the investment in each student is greater.

“The impressive achievement is entirely due to the education system, the parents and the students who work together in synchronization and according to a regulated vision centered on our children,” said the Mayor, Dr. Yehiel Lesri, “every teenager is a world for us, and we provide tools for a better future, More recent and much more useful.

The data of the schools under supervision in Ashdod indicate partial upward trends. For example, in circle C there is an increase from 91.9% in 2018 to 95.7% in 2018. In circle D they increased from 96% to 96.6%. In the 5th comprehensive, the percentage of those eligible increased from 95.2% to 98.3%. In Mikif F, the eligible increased from 91.2% to 92.9%. In the seventh circular there is a slight increase from 98.1% to 98.6%. In Mikif H they increased from 97.8% to 99.4%. In Mikif T there was an increase from 95.5% to 98.1%. On the other hand, there were educational institutions that recorded a decrease, such as in Mikif A where they decreased from 85.5% to 82.9%. Olafna A.S. Rabbi Ha’oli saw a drop from 99.1% to 92.1%. In the new high school Yeshiva there was a drop from 100% to 97.9%. In the New Mikif 11A there was a drop from 96.9% to 95.6%.

The municipality also draws encouragement from the percentage of those eligible for an outstanding matriculation, a figure that is on the rise in almost all schools. The 11th circle is notable for this, which jumped from 13 percent in 2015 to 22 percent in 2015. In the 4th circle, 13 percent of the graduates are also entitled to a certificate of excellence (compared to 3 percent in the 2016 circle), the 7th circle with 18 percent, the 9th circle with 12, the high school yeshiva and the workshop named after the rabbi maybe with 14 percent.

In the data of those approaching matriculation five units in mathematics there is a drop of two percent in the average of the schools under supervision from 23 to 21.

Ashdod’s position in socioeconomic ranking 4 should also be included in the weighting of the data, which requires a greater financial investment on the part of the municipality which is sometimes reflected in the doubling or tripling of the budget for each student. The municipality explains that every quarter a measurement and evaluation is done together with the school principals, in order to better understand the rising and emerging needs for each and every student.

“Maintaining a high percentage of those eligible for matriculation is another tremendous success, which testifies to the city’s unceasing investment in students,” said a city official. “We created a supportive envelope that will allow each and every one to focus on studies and put aside financial worries, and we are happy with the results.”
