At the end of 2020, the war, which lasted for about 6 weeks, came to an end thanks to the continued efforts of Russia. The leaders of the 3 countries signed an agreement to implement the ceasefire. The leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia jointly announced the immediate cessation of all hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh region.

Nagorno-Karabakh region is in Azerbaijan. Armenian people live here. Under the cease-fire agreement, Armenia ceded territory it had controlled for years. In the absence of a permanent peace, Russia sent about 2,000 peacekeepers to oversee the ceasefire and maintain peace.

In this case, there was another conflict on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border. The government of the country said that 50 soldiers were killed on the Armenian side. Azerbaijan says its forces are trying to infiltrate into its territory and has asked world leaders to help prevent this. Since then, Russia has claimed a temporary cessation of hostilities and an agreement between the two sides. However, tensions remain at the border.

Armenia’s closest ally, Russia, has been focused on the war in Ukraine for the past six months, unable to focus on the issue. So, suddenly there is conflict.

Similarly, it has been said that there has been a loss of life on the Azerbaijan side. But it did not disclose the number of people who died.
