Is it Zotac’s GeForce RTX 4090? • HWzone

Additional fresh images claim to provide us with a glimpse into the packaging and design of the graphics card from NVIDIA that will soon become the most powerful in the world

Hot from the oven of the Chinese Baidu network, we get a pair of documents of what looks like an advanced AMP model from Zotac for the GeForce RTX 4090 – the poster boy of the Lovelace generation that has yet to be officially announced, as we know.

In one image, apparently from some assembly plant that provides services to the manufacturer, you can see the apparently final cardboard boxes in which the models will actually arrive in stores – including an updated and thinner font for the words GeForce RTX and the model number. A font that looks a little strange and could quite easily lead us to think that this is something of an amateur forgery and nothing more – if it weren’t for the additional photo where you can see the back of the cards themselves, five of them in the frame at least, with a design that matches the one seen on the printed packaging.

The card benefits from a cooling system of three fans with a nice rounded cover and unusual for the field, when you can also identify a pair of new generation 16-pin connections (12VHPWR) on its side which may be a partial verification of the rumors about a crazy power envelope of over 700 watts for the model – although It is appropriate to treat the subject with some skepticism, since today we already know that the same new connection is capable of working in several power configurations up to 600 watts at the upper end depending on the compatibility of the power supply itself, so that a pair of connections in one place can be the method to ensure as wide compatibility as possible even in a situation where each connector Operates with a maximum power of 450 watts or 300 watts, for example.

The card looks absolutely massive, one that will require at least three free slots (Slots) in the case and on the motherboard – and this should not surprise anyone, since already today most advanced graphics cards require more space than a pair of slots (most designs are for 2.7 slots, 2.9 slots or 3 slots and more), and with the expected jump in the power envelope in the Lovelace generation and with it the need to disperse and remove larger amounts of heat than ever for this product category, it is very possible that most models from the RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 series will require a free space of over three Slots inside the system (at least from users who will continue to prefer air cooling over a water cooling block).

The current leak does not provide us with any new technical information about the RTX 4090, but the leading rumors correctly predict the use of 128 processing clusters on the AD102 core inside (based on TSMC’s 4nm manufacturing process), out of a potential 144 processing clusters that exist A physical increase, with a total of 16,384 CUDA units at a very high operating frequency that will supposedly approach 3GHz – and 24GB of GDDR6 memory with a speed of 22Gbps or 24Gbps as the perfect combination that can boost performance by tens of percent compared to GeForce RTX 3090 and even GeForce RTX 3090 Ti.

We expect to see many more leaks about the RTX 4000 series in the near future, and moreover – assuming that Zotac’s images are authentic, this may indicate that an official launch of the already mass-produced and packaged RTX 4090 models is also a matter of weeks. Watch for updates!

A new design for the font of the GeForce brand has been leaking for several weeks, but does not constitute any proof of the reliability of the leaked images in its own right as far as we are concerned – because if someone decided to make a “fake” home design for the new generation card they could easily adopt the new design of the words GeForce RTX , according to the rumors that are already circulating in the network
