Doha (14 Sep 2022): GCC driving license holders can directly apply for driving license test in Qatar. They don’t need to take a driving course.
This facility is very useful for foreigners including Indians. Currently, to get a driving license in Qatar, one needs to attend a driving course. However, if a resident of any GCC country holds a driver’s license to obtain a license, he is not required to enroll in this course. Qatar’s First Lieutenant Director of Public Transport, Mohammed Al Amri, explained this in an interview with Qatar TV.
GCC license holders can drive in Qatar for up to three months if they visit Qatar. But when the authorities check, they must present documents indicating the time of their entry into Qatar. For this, passport or entry visa documents should be in hand.
