Football: after the intrusion on its lawn in the middle of a match, FC Metz files a complaint

by time news

FC Metz will file a complaint against the young supporter who entered the lawn of the Saint-Symphorien stadium on Monday evening during the meeting of the 8th day of Ligue 2 between Metz and Guingamp (3-6). Throwing projectiles from the stands and the intrusion after the expulsion of three Metz players had led to the interruption of the match, the referee considering that he was no longer safe.

“He is a 13-year-old, a kid, who did not realize what he was doing, regrets the director of security of FC Metz, Jean-François Girard, in the Republican Lorrain. We are talking about a mistake and the referee considers that he has been threatened. FC Metz will still file a complaint against him “because it is an intrusion of the playing area.”

The game was able to resume and the case will be studied this Wednesday by the Football League commission. In a press release, the referees called for “exemplary sanctions” and denounced « these gestures and acts of violence (…) which give a very bad image of football towards the amateur world. »
