Influenza: Qatar to start free immunization

Doha: Qatar begins flu vaccination. The Ministry of Public Health launched a free flu vaccination campaign in Qatar. The annual campaign is conducted in collaboration with Hamad Medical Corporation and Primary Care Corporation. Influenza vaccination is available free of cost from all primary health centers, HMC’s OP clinics, 45 private and semi-private clinics and hospitals across the country.

Dr. Abdullatif Al Khal, Head of HMC Epidemic Prevention Department and Chairman of the National Health Strategic Group, stated that vaccination was started in September as part of preventive measures. Authorities have suggested that children aged 6 months to 5 years, pregnant women, people above 50 years of age, people with chronic diseases, health workers and teachers should all get vaccinated.
