In 2018, the enforcement department officials filed a case that a company named Parekh Aluminumex Limited had taken a loan of Rs 2,296.58 crore from banks and that money laundering had taken place.

In this case, the enforcement officers raided the places belonging to the company ‘Raksha Bullion and Classic Marbles’, which is headquartered in Mumbai, in connection with this case. Then, it was discovered that secret lockers were installed in the company.

Lockers have been operating without following proper norms and without verifying KOIC applications. Also, it was discovered by the enforcement officials that surveillance cameras were not installed at the place.

761 secret lockers were functioning there. Out of which, 91.5 kg of gold and 152 kg of silver were seized from 2 lockers. 188 kg of silver was also seized from the premises, the enforcement officials said in a statement.

The seized gold and silver is said to be worth Rs 47.76 crore. continuously
